Boarding

Overnight Boarding

We are a niche boarding facility with a maximum  capacity of forty boarding dogs over any period.

The benefits of boarding dogs at an experienced and well-managed facility are plentiful.

We exist purely to keep your pets safe and happy while you are away – it is our job and it is what we are set up for.

There is no such thing as gates being left open accidentally or staff/contractors not turning up to do their job.

We are here, on duty 24/7/365, to care for your four-legged family members, whether they are 8 weeks old or 18 years old.

While your dog’s first choice is always to go wherever their family goes, we try our best to give your dog (and you!) the best possible alternative.

Our standard rate is inclusive of:
  • Full day access to 7000 square metres of safe, fenced-in space
  • Two on-leash walks per day over the entire property (28 000 square metres) – obedient dogs (or dogs that don’t pose a threat to our cats and chickens) may be permitted off-leash at our discretion
  • Regular games and stimulation according to your dog’s likes and dislikes
  • Love, cuddles and affection from all of us
  • Access to splash pools and shade all day
  • A twice-weekly brush for long-coated breeds and once-weekly brushing for smooth-coated breeds
  • Assistance from kind, compassionate and animal-loving kennel staff
  • Veterinary spec dewormer administered on check-in and every 26 days thereafter during their stay
  • Veterinary spec fly prevention applied on check-in and weekly thereafter
  • A complimentary bath and brush for dogs who spend more than 4 consecutive days with us
  • The first 9km of their transport is free each way
  • Administration of medication if required
  • Supervision and interactions with a dog behaviourist*
  • Probiotics with every meal
  • Bed time treats
  • Their own safe and secure individual kennel at night (16h30 to 07h00) and during inclement Highveld storm weather

Please note:
  • This is our home – we are resident 24/7
  • We do not charge extra for activities, one on one playtime, photos, etc. Our rate is all-inclusive (owners provide food or we can do so at an additional charge)
  • Dogs are only in their kennels at night and during extremely dangerous stormy weather – the rest of the time they are enjoying the open space
  • Most of our kennels are suitable for between one and three dogs, depending on their size. We have two kennels that are suitable for four small/small-medium dogs if they can cohabitate safely
  • Dogs from different homes do not share kennels
  • Dogs from the same home may share a kennel if they are 100% happy with each other 100% of the time. If your dogs are fed separately from one another, require supervision when being fed, or do not like sharing a bed, or tend to squabble or fight, they will require separate kennels and the rates will be adjusted accordingly
  • We are closed for arrivals and departures on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and Public Holidays – no exceptions
  • Weekend bookings are always from Friday or Saturday morning, to Monday, public holidays excluded
  • Our rates for daycare and boarding are separate. In other words, if you would like your dog to spend the night you will only pay the boarding rate (below). If your dog is arriving in the morning and leaving the same day, the daycare rate applies (weekdays only – see Doggy Daycare tab) – please note that the boarding dogs spend their days with the daycare dogs and are not kept or managed separately
  • Daycare customers contracted at the time of enquiry and boarding qualify for a 50% discount on boarding rates throughout the year
  • We do not accept the following breeds: Pitbull (American Pitbull Terrier), Amstaff (American Staffordshire Terriers), American Bully, Staffy (Staffordshire Bull Terrier), English Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, Shar Pei, Chow Chow, Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino, Boerboel and Bull Mastiff. We do not accept dogs cross bred (“mixed”) with the following breeds: Pitbull, Amstaff, American Bully, Staffy, Shar Pei and Chow Chow. Please note that the Pitbull that is occasionally featured in our photos and videos is on a special arrangement for many years now, and does not interact with other client dogs – and is the only Pitbull we host
  • We reserve the right to accept or decline admission based on visual markers that lend themselves towards the above mentioned breeds. Having operate our boarding facility for more than a decade we are very aware of the types of dogs that suit our highly social environment
  • We require the following breeds to attend a mandatory assessment before boarding: Ridgeback (Rhodesian Ridgeback), Great Dane, St. Bernard, Husky, Alaskan Malamute, English Bulldog, French Bulldog, Doberman and Boxer. We may accept these breeds without a trial if they are puppies under the age of 5 months.
  • We only accept sterilised dogs (if over the age of seven months) – please contact us if you have queries in this regard
  • Safe transport in our vehicles is provided at a nominal cost – the first 10km each way is free
  • For health and safety reasons we do not provide heaters in kennels. Our kennels are well-insulated in cool weather and we provide plenty of bedding
  • Admission is not guaranteed – we have firm selection criteria as is detailed in our Terms and Conditions and we reserve the right of admission
  • Our standard pricing model is based on affable, adaptable dogs who settle into our routines over a couple of days. If your dog’s management requires additional resources and processes, your invoice will be adjusted accordingly for the increased management required to safely house your dog/s. The invoice will need to be paid in full before you can collect your dog/s. We will have informed you of any accommodation change during your dog/s stay and our reasons for changing things up. Examples include: excessive barking through the night, potential for self-harm, attempts to escape enclosures or kennels, reactivity or aggression towards humans or other dogs. We always want to have happy and relaxed guests, and we will do everything we can to ensure their health and safety while making sure other guests and our humans are kept safe as well. Most dogs settle into our routines just fine, but post-pandemic we are seeing more dogs with moderate to severe anxiety at being away from their own humans.
